Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or BJJ equips MMA practitioners the required ground skills to effectively control the opponents when on the floor and if possible push them to submission with the use maneuvers design to inflict pain and pressure on different joints and muscles. Examples of this are chokes and arm bars. An important aspect of BJJ is the jiu jitsu gi. During BJJ competitions, players are required to wear the Gi and competitors use it to grip their opponents and execute maneuvers. This is the reason why it is important for an individual to wear a gi which is comfortable and fits his fighting style.
Getting a customized gi is important since it gives one an edge during a fight. A gi should be comfortable enough to allow free movement yet should not be too easy for the opponent to grip. When getting a customized brazilian jiu-jitsu gi it is always important to get the measurements correctly so it is ideal to have someone take the measurements. In addition, the material to be used should be considered. Single weave fabrics can be light but are easier to grip while double weave fabrics may be heavier; however, they are a lot more difficult to hold on to. There are also ultra light fabrics which are ideal but are more expensive. Always keep in mind that getting the right uniform can give an edge in a competition.
